It does indeed look like Outlook 2016 for Mac (included in Office 365 for Mac) supports Exchange 2010, but it needs to be Exchange 2010 SP3; this means previous Exchange 2010 versions might or might not work, but they are not supported. I completely removed Office Standard 2016 for Mac and reinstalled off a fresh ISO downloaded from the VLSC. The following happens when adding the Exchange account: • We enter her email address & password. • We're redirected to our organization's SSO page. • She signs in. • Outlook displays the warning about our certificate. We accept it. • Outlook asks about allowing our O365 tenant to configure the client. • Outlook tells us authentication failed.
